holy cow

today we went on a family trip to brenham, tx to visit blue bell creamery. for you who do not what blue bell is...(i'm sorry) it's the best ice cream you will ever have. it is the only ice cream daddy allows in the house & he is an ice cream connoisseur. we got to go on a tour of the blue bell creamery & see how they make ice cream...it was really cool (except for the goofy hats mommy & daddy insisted on wearing). this is the most amazing thing i've ever heard- guess how many cows it takes to supply one day of production at blue bell...50,000 cows...HOLY COW!!! watching the assembly line was amazing, one mishap & it would be an ice cream disaster (that is the worst kind). they have sooooooo many different kinds of freezers in there, it was crazy, i don't know how they keep them straight. of course they save the best for last, at the end of the tour we got to have a huge scoop of ice cream...mmm, mmm, good. so on the long way home we worked up another appetite or should i say sweet tooth & had to have some more (you guessed it) blue bell ice cream, what... we had to break in our new ice cream scooper.

the other day we went to joe's crab shack for a field trip, we learned all about the different types of crabs & where they all live. we got to go in the kitchen & check everything out. we saw ton and tons of shrimp & we even got to help bread some (cool, but yucky), they have the 3rd largest ice machine in houston in their kitchen it's so big they have to use a shovel to get ice out...for real. we also got to tour the huge refrigerators, they were very cold & very smelly and if you were brave enough you could go into their freezer, it was 0 degrees... i wasn't brave! after we had a nummy lunch we got to have ice cream sundaes (daddy's favorite part of the whole trip) with everything on them...that was awesome. then the people who work there taught us some of their famous dances, mommy got down when they did the chicken dance. we had a lot of fun & livi loved it there, i think she had the best time of all, she loved the huge shark hanging from the ceiling & she even held a crab leg that was almost half her size....silly girl.

hallway house

livi decided our hallway house needed some redecoration, after a few crashes i decided to go see if she started a demolition project instead. no worries everything was still in one piece, but i over-ruled she needed another decorator on her team...me. we had so much fun rearranging all the furniture, livi had ideas i never would have thought of, i mean having a dining table in the bathroom- very coolio. we played till after our bedtime, mommy let us stay up extra late because we were having such a good time.

Candelari's Pizzaria

today i went on a field trip to candelari's pizzaria, it was sooooo cool. we got to go in the kitchen & see how they make pizza. we saw them spinning dough, the special pizza ovens, we even got to go their huge refrigerator (it was so big 15 of us could fit in it...for real!). after we saw how to make pizza it was our turn to make our own, they gave us pizza pans that we sprinkled with flour then we got dough balls that we had to flatten out (that was hard work), after that came the pizza sauce, then we got to put our toppings on (i picked sausage & pepperoni) & in to the pizza oven it went. for never making pizza before, it was pretty darn good. i brought my leftovers home for daddy & he said it was the BEST pizza he has ever eaten!!! after we ate our pizza it was back in the kitchen we went to wash our dishes, that was so fun. i think more water got on us than our dishes, but hey it was the thought that counts. i can't wait to take my whole family there for dinner but, i don't know if they'll let me in the kitchen again...i promise i'll bring a mop next time.

art show

i had an amazing day today, it was another one of my friends & i's art shows. the last 6 weeks, we've worked with watercolors, clay, acrylic paints,q-tips(that was super hard) gauche paint & this really cool thing called a scratch board. i can't wait til my next session starts to see what we'll work on. i love my art teacher soooooo much, because she is the best art teacher in the whole wide world!!!

tio & tias

woo hoo, my family is in town from mexico, they only come about 4 times a year, so we always have a grrrreat time when they are here. in the first picture it's my momo, tia' laura, tia' palmira & of course livi and i. in the second picture it's my tia' laura & tio' armando aka the chef. he makes the most amazing food, oh my goodness...i'm glad i wore a dress & not pants, i would have split them i ate so much. mmm, mmm, good!!!

bishops' pad

this weekend i went to my friend bishops' pad and we had a grrrrreat time. can you believe it, he has a real live drum set in his room...he's so cool. we even had a jam session with livi on the piano & bishop and i taking turns on the drums. after we played a few diddys, he showed me his car collection. boy oh boy, he has tons-everywhere i looked there were cars, cars and more cars. he really likes blue ones, maybe that's a boy thing. bishop knows how much i like gardens, so he took me out to his & showed me all his fruit trees & vegetables. we got a lil' dirty watering all the plants & you know what bishop did he got the hose & washed my feet off for me...what a GENTLEMAN!!! then we went inside had dinner & desert (brownies...yummy), i can't wait til next time, i still need a few lessons on those awesome drums of his.

green thumbs

since daddy loves to do a ton of yard work & has the most beautiful mowed grass i've ever seen, mommy & i decided to show him the world of gardening. he loves it (we already knew he would) as much as we do, so far we've (daddy worked super, super hard) made an awesome spices (herb) & spicy pepper garden, daddy has over 5 different kinds of peppers... he's feeling hot, hot, hot. livi & mommy planted a butterfly garden, we can't wait for the butterflies to come, we already have one we're hoping she tells her friends about the new hot hang out spot & more will come. my favorite one though is my flower garden, we planted orange, purple, dark & light pink flowers... it's beautiful & it's right outside my window, my flowers are so special that only i water them & i talk to them so they know how much i love them! we'll have to see what we can come up with next to plant, i'm thinking of fruit trees, how coolio would that be, we wouldn't have to go to the store anymore-it would be in our backyard!

weekend fun

this weekend we went to nonies' for some fun in the sun, we even brought momo with us. we went swimming in the pool by nonie's house and we went fishin' in the lake (helpa is the only one who caught a fish but i caught lots of minnows), momo had never been fishing so we had to show all the fun she had been missing . we also played a lot at nonies' neighbors, they had baby kittens (ohhh so cute), i really wanted to take one home but they were still too little, they also had a brand new horse swing made out of tires that needed to be broken in & i'm not the kind of girl to leave them in a bind...so i took care of it for them. to say thank you they let us borrow their taxi cab golf cart to ride in, all i'm going to say about that is that nonie was behind the wheel...so it was an adventure!!! we had sooooooooooooo much fun, there just wasn't enough time in the day. i can't wait till next time to see what we'll come up with to do.
