mono

well i haven't been feeling so great lately & have been to the doctors 3 times in the last 2 months. i finally told mommy that i wanted to have my blood drawn to figure out what was going on. i'n not so great with blood draws, every time i've had them in the past i throw up & pass out. i fight getting them tooth & nail, so that will tell you how bad i felt. well we got the results back & i have mono, vitamin d deficiency & boarder line anemic. the doctor said i can't do anything on the weekends or after school, that i needed to just rest. well i was doing that & still wasn't getting any better so now i can't go to school for a week & then when i return it can only be part time for another week. we met with the school nurse & counselor & they're so awesome about everything. the worst form of punishment i can think of is not going to school. i hate to miss anything & my grades are the most important thing to me. they assured me that everything was going to be just fine & the school was going to do anything i need to help me. we got all my school work for the next 2 weeks to work on at home when i'm feeling up it & my teachers all want me to get better fast because they miss me. mommy is making sure i'm resting, eating lots of yummy nutritious foods & only working on my school work for little bursts of time while taking lots of breaks in between.

crazy hair day

Today is crazy hair day at school for Livi. She loves when they have theme days, but is also extremely nervous when it's the day of. She hates to be the center of attention & struggles on any occasion where she may stand out. She's never had a birthday party with her friends because it's just too much for her. Crazy hair day is always attention grabbing & I have so many ideas, but she has to do it her way to be comfortable. On the way to school she didn't see that many kids with crazy hair & had mommy drive around the neighborhood to help calm her nerves & to decide if she wanted to take everything out of her hair. She was terrified everyone would laugh at her or that she'd be the only one in her class that looked crazy. She was sick to her stomach & doing everything to be brave. Mommy showed her a picture of one of her favorite teacher's crazy hair for the day & she decided she wanted to have fun too. When they pulled up they saw more ridiculousness & when she got out she got lots of compliments. Mommy could tell she was cringing inside as she sped into school, but was so proud that she tackled her anxiety & didn't let it stop her fun. She's aware of struggles & always try's her hardest to push herself to conquer them no matter how small they be.

Hero Day

Today was hero day at Livi's school & Livi decided to dress up as her GI specialist, Dr.Krishna. He's been her doctor since she was an infant & is a wonderful human being. He's her hero because he's always believed in her, loved her & never given up on her. She roped me into posing as her patient & Sadie had to join in as her nurse.

unicorn frappuccino

with all the hub bub about star buck's unicorn frappuccino, we decided we had to try it. we had to go to 4 different starbucks before we found one that hadn't run out of them, they are in serious high demand! we can say it's definitely not our favorite drink, but we tried it. in one sip it was so sour you thought your lips were going to be puckered forever then in the next it was so sweet you needed a huge glass of water which we promptly got. hey, at least we tried something new & know unicorn drinks are not for us.

snake-a-way

After killing 2 ridiculously large snakes on our street yesterday, daddy is taking matters into his own hands with his new machete & snake a-away. 

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!!! After we had our easter egg hunt in the front yard it was off to celebrate Easter at church. Our church rented out the new concert center (Smart Financial Center) down the street from our house for the celebration & it was so much fun! After service there was anything & everything you could think of to do with your family. There was 10 different bouncy houses, fountains to cool off in, dinosaurs, face painting, food trucks & Texan for ball player Jay Prosch!
