get better soon mommy

mommy had to have surgery today because her gallbladder was causing a ruckus so she decided to fire it. so the blog has been a little behind because she hasn't been feeling to good & we're sorry for that, but we'll be back catching you up soon. so here's a picture of our goofy mommy about to go into the operating room rocking some crazy ridiculous socks.

in kindergarten all the way through 3rd grade you have daily behavioral chart that your parents have to sign every night. when you're in kindergarten your clip gets moved a lot because kindergarteners are CRAZY & the teachers are trying to teach to have better behavior for the rest of the time you're in school. well livi as been the only one in her whole class who hasn't ever moved her clip... which is crazy, we're half way through school! well today was the day & she had to move her clip to yellow for talking! mommy & daddy were so proud of her for talking to much that we had pizza for dinner & chocolate ice cream for dessert. we all know how goofy, silly & loud livi is, but at school she's as quiet as a mouse. nobody really has seen the real livi & we were so happy that she's feeling comfortable enough to start breaking out of her shell... yay livi!

beautiful day

today the sun finally brooke free & it was way to beautiful to stay inside. we all decided it would be the perfect day to go to the park & we even took sadie with us. she had a blast running everywhere, climbing up stairs, crossing bridges & going down the slides. at one point she didn't even wait for me she just took off down the slide by herself!!! we were worn out by the end of it, but we had the best time ever! thank you sun for coming out to play with us!

friday night fun

last night i had a sleepover at my best friend's house so livi & mommy had a special slumber party too with just them. livi got to pick anyplace she wanted to go for dinner so they went to mcdonald's for dinner & livi got to play for an hour on their playground.

 then when they got home livi gave mommy a makeover... thank goodness livi has a few years to work on her eyeliner skills.

after the makeover they played lots of games & sadie even played a round.

then they settled in bed for a movie. so in the end we both had a fun filled awesome night with our favorite people.

1st place

 remember last year how i made it into the lcisd district rodeo art show well, i was chosen again for 2015! this year i drew a field of bluebonnets in the texas sunset, i really love the way it turned out. today was the day where we could finally come where we can check out my rodeo art work at the fort bend annex & see all the other entries. i didn't make it to the rodeo this year, but i'm happy to say i received  a 1st place ribbon... yaw haw! it was awesome seeing all the other pieces of art work that were there, especially all the high school entries... they were amazing!!! we have to admit we didn't agree with all the judging, there were some spectacular pieces that got 3rd place ribbons. seeing everything got me super excited for next year, i'm determined to make it into the rodeo art competition! we thought livi was going to have a piece there too, but there was a mixup. so she's bound & determined to make it to next year's show also! we really love art & am so thankful that other people do too!

candy cane crunch & fire figters

this year we made our famous candy cane crunch as usual for all of our teachers & loved ones for christmas presents. well we had some extra ingredients left over so we thought we'd make some to take to a few local fire stations to say thank you for all your hard work & let them know how much we appreciate them. let me tell you, those fire fighters we're so happy & thankful! both fire stations gave us the grand your with all the bell, whistles & sirens! they pretty much let us have the run of the place... whoo hoo! i even got to get in the driver's seat of a huge fire truck & have a turn at the wheel! they gave us coloring books, plastic fire hats & stickers. we forget how much other people do for us & just come to expect it from them. we ask you to please take the time to do something nice in your community to let them know how much you do recognize & appreciate all that they do!

if you want to make this delicious treat here's the reciepe for our candy cane crunch is so easy peasy anyone can make it. enjoy & have fun!!!
all you need is:

30 mini candy canes

12 ounces vanilla candy coating broken into pieces

1. unwrap candy canes, & place in a zip-top freezer bag. seal bag, removing as much air as you can. wrap the bag in a kitchen towel, & crush candies using a rolling pin or a wooden hammer.
2. place candy coating in a big microwave-safe bowl; microwave at HIGH 1min & 30 sec or until coating looks like it's just beginning to melt. stir candy coating until smooth. stir in crushed candy canes.
3. spread mixture evenly onto a 15x10 inch jelly-roll pan lined with wax paper. chill in the refrigerator 30 mins or until candy is firm; break into pieces & enjoy!
store in an airtight container up to 1 month. makes 1 pound of candy.

back to school

well today was our first day back to school & poor livi's anxiety was taking over. her last day of school she cried because she was going to miss her friends so much, but now she's crying because she's nervous about starting all over again. she was so upset she couldn't fall asleep last night so after we tried all the techniques that i use to fall asleep & that didn't work, i decided to crawl in bed with her to help her fall asleep. well i fell asleep too & didn't move back to by bed until after 2am.

this morning when we were getting ready the tears started again so daddy helped her find her serious face to finish getting ready & be brave enough to go to school.

 mommy & daddy were worried all day about her, but there was no need. as soon as she walked into her classroom & all her friends ran to hug her & say "hi" everything was wonderful & she had a great first day back.

monster jam

last night daddy & i had our annual date to the monster jam & it was AWESOME!!!! this year we even brought livi & ivoni (my bff) they had never been & boy were they in for a treat! on the way to the stadium we took the tram & tried to prepare livi & ivoni for how loud it was going to be once we got inside the stadium. because one thing to know for sure is it's going to be soooooooooooooo loud in there. i gave livi my old pink headphone & got a brand new orange pair & daddy also picked up some for ivoni. i think with all the warning we gave them they still weren't prepared by all the noise. ivoni immediately jumped & put her fingers in her ears until we got her headphones on her. livi has been wanting to go with us for years now but didn't think she could handle the loudness. well when we walked in she wanted to walk right back out to go home. it took daddy about 25 mins to calm her down & get her all situated with her headphones & then she ended up loving it.... thank goodness. there was so many things going on there, all sorts of contests...races, running over smashed cars & buses, high jumps off dirt ramps, doughnuts, two wheeled handstands, the neatest was the freestyle. max-d was back this year & he ended up being livi's favorite truck. grave digger won this year, me & daddy were super pumped! we can't wait to go again next year because it's so so so fun, you have to go & next year we know to put livi's ear mufflers on her before we go in the stadium!
