movember

daddy put down his razor after november 1. the reason? to help raise funds and awareness for men's health issues. as part of the Movember campaign -- which asks men to grow mustaches throughout the month of november. my daddy lost his daddy to cancer so cancer's affected him in a big way. nowadays if you have a mustache, people look at you like you're crazy, but when daddy was growing up he never saw his dad without a mustache. so this is a fun way for daddy to say thank you to my popo and it's for a good cause.  the movember participants known as mo bros then have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustache and along the way raise as much money and awareness about male health issues as possible. daddy has been really creative with his style of mustache, he's made his own version of a handlebar mustache. not everyone can pull off the look, but i think he looks awesome!  we only have 5 days left of movember so please take men's health seriously & help my daddy with his cause & donate, here is the link... http://mobro.co/molopez

barbies, barbies, barbies

every year at this time my church takes up a collection of brand new toys to give to the "second mile mission", they help families in need in fort bend county. last year it really hit me what we were doing & how there are children that really don't have a christmas & that we are helping give them one. i have more barbies than i know what to do with & i always get them as gifts. i decided that there must be other little girls who love barbie just as much as i do, but probably have never had one. so for the last year every barbie i've gotten i've saved & put it in a special place instead of opening it or returning it for something else. finally today i was able to take them all to my church & put them with all the other toys & i was so excited knowing that i was going to make a little girl really happy when they got a barbie for christmas... yay!!! this is the season for giving & there are so many people less fortunate than us, so if you can please take the time to reach out in your community. no matter how big or small you give IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

1st grade turkey parade

my class
the parade
today was my 1st grade turkey parade at school, that means all the 1st graders paraded around the whole school for everyone to celebrate thanksgiving! we've been preparing for this for a long long time, all the girls dressed like pilgrims & all the boys dressed like native americans. we worked really hard on making our own costumes & i think everyone looked grrreat. we even had a note sent home asking the girls to wear only black, navy blue or gray & to wear our hair in a bun because that's how pilgrim girls dressed. i have to say my friends & i looked a lil silly, but i liked it. also for homework we brought home a turkey (not a real one) to decorate any way we wanted to as a family, that was a tons of fun! so during the parade we were all dressed up & holding up our fancy turkeys for all to see. i think it's safe to say all us 1st graders were nervous about having so much attention on us & instead of us walking slowly, we speed walked through the whole parade. we were walking so fast mommy couldn't keep up with the pictures, they're all blurred. after the parade we all went to the cafeteria for pictures with our class, friends & teacher & we all liked that much more! my favorite part was seeing all the different ways my friends decorated their turkeys, everyone was so creative!!!

i love ms.chu
i'm so thankful for my bff

livi's thanksgiving feast

today at livi's pre-school they had their own thanksgiving feast & it was a feast indeed. they dined on turkey, green beans, fruit, mac-n-cheese, carrots & dip,  juice, rolls & cupcakes. since all livi really eats is pepperoni she brought that in to share with her friends. livi's favorite part of the whole meal was the banana lollipop she had for dessert. they had the cutest place settings ever & they were handmade by the kids.... you know mommy will save those for forever!!! i can tell livi had a great time, but i wish i could have been with her because i would've ate everything else on her plate.

it's about time

guess what... i finally lost another tooth. after 5 months of waiting for another one to fall out, tonight was the night. i came home for
school with a pretty wiggly tooth & that was good enough for me... i was bound & determined to get it out tonight. so this is my second tooth i pulled out all by myself & daddy is so proud of me (shh, he was to scared to pull out his own teeth). whoo hoo, i'm so excited for the tooth fairy to visit me tonight & to color in our tooth chart at school tomorrow!!!

livi's a dinosaur

yesterday at livi's school was dinosaur day& she was sooooooooo
excited... she loves dinosaurs! she loves how they roar & they way they walk side to side. we decided she had to have a one of a kind homemade dinosaur shirt to celebrate, so after looking at tons of pictures of them she decided the one with the really long tail (brontosaurus) was her favorite, then of course we had to add polka dots! i also let her borrow my dinosaur silly band & mommy made her a stegosaurus sandwich. in her music class they sang her favorite song "we are the dinosaurs" by laurie berkner, she was singing at the top of her lungs & stomping her feet all out! her class also made themselves into stegosauruses with paper plates, now that is what i call awesome. livi made sure everyone knew she was a happy dinosaur & she didn't roar to mean so she didn't scary anyone. she was so funny, if we would have let her she would have gone to bed as a dinosaur & as soon as she got up today she had to put her dinosaur back on. livi has also decided her name is no longer livi it's dinosaur & she now roars when she talks. she had such a great time yesterday, she wants everyday to be dinosaur day.

movember

if you don't know about movemeber, i'm here to tell you about it & if you do know maybe you'll learn something new! movember (the month formally known as november) is a charity event held during november each year.
at the start of movember guys register with a clean shaven face. the movember participants known as mo bros then have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustache and along the way raise as much money and awareness about male health issues as possible. and this year my daddy has decided to be a mo bro because he wants to change the face of men's health. it's so funny seeing daddy with a clean shaven face, in all my life i've seen him like this. it's taken me a few days to get used to the new him, but now i think he looks really handsome & young. i'm really happy about why he's doing it... i tell you though, he is going to grow one funny looking moustache... i can't wait to see it!!! so if you would like to help my daddy with his cause & donate, here is the link... http://mobro.co/molopez

G2 give & grow

yay, look at all the shoe boxes
tonight at my church we are had an operation christmas child shoebox party. "operation christmas child brings joy & hope to children in desperate situations worldwide through simple, gift- filled shoe boxes & evangelistic materials that tell the good news of God's love".  what that means is we go shopping as a family for a child & buy things like toys, hair clips, watches, socks, school supplies, hygiene things & of course a shoebox. it's a really awesome thing to do as a family because it really helps us realize what we're thankful for. livi picked a girl that is 2-4 & i picked a girl that is 5-9, we had so much fun picking out things for them that we knew they would love. then tonight we packed our shoe boxes with lots of love & wrapped them in christmas wrapping paper with all of our friends at church. we had hot chocolate with fluffy marshmallows, cookies, christmas music, tons of fun as we prepared our gifts for kids all around the world! getting to be a part in helping a child's christmas wish come true was the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit! i'm so thankful for my church being a part of this & introducing a new holiday tradition to my family. if you're interested in operation christmas child here is their website to visit... http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/.
