dinosaur, co

livi has been waiting so patiently to see this "welcome to dinosaur, colorado" sign & she was so excited when she did! this has definitely been a dinosaur filled day & livi has loved every minute of it! of course we had to drive through dinosaur, co since we were finally here. the town was a lot smaller than we thought it would be, only a little over 300 people live in it & they don't even have a grocery store, but there are dinosaur things all over.
all the streets are named after dinosaurs, we loved that!

we even went to the bedrock depot & got these awesome dinosaur animal cookies that are made just for them & boy were they delicious!
on the way to dinosaur, co we even saw a rodeo t-rex, now that was a sight!

colorado

we're RAWR'N into colorado... watch out!

dinosaur national monument

finally we're at the dinosaur national monument.... whoo hoo!!! we visited the quarry there which offers utah's most dramatic dinosaur display. it is a time capsule preserved in an ancient river sandbar. there is  the fossilized remains of over 2,000 bones which have been exposed in a 200 ft wall!
they also had tons of amazing casts of dinosaurs as well, they were unbelievable.
look at this thigh bone
the most amazing part of the whole thing is we got to touch the dinosaur bones, can you believe?!?! it was so awesome, they were really rough & smooth at the same time. we couldn't get over the fact that we were really touching dinosaur bones! how many people can say they've done this, this is just to much!

so pretty

isn't utah just beautiful!?!?

idaho

it's 11:30 at night & we finally made it to idaho... whoo hoo. the state border is on a bridge & there was no where at all to take a photo, so we pulled over at the visitor center & made that work. of course we have to continue on with our family border state pictures even if livi is asleep!

teapots & popsicles

today we knew was going to be a really long day in the car so mommy found a special roadside attraction for us to see. we stopped at the teapot dome gas station outside yakima, washington. it's so cool, it was built in 1922 & it's 15 ft tall! mommy loves teapots, so she was really excited to see this national historic landmark. seriously, isn't it so cute?!
since livi & i were being so good on our first day back in the car & it being such a long day, mommy decided we needed a special treat! so we stopped off to get gas & mommy let us pick out any treat we wanted . we found these really awesome rainbow popsicles & knew that's what we had to have. so we just parked ourselves on a bench & thoroughly enjoyed those delicious popsicles while making a mess of ourselves. it was the best thing ever & just the break we needed!

saying goodbye is never easy

well mommy came down with a nasty stomach bug & our very last day we had to spend the whole day in the hotel. pop knew this was the last day he had with us, so he drove all the way over to our hotel to spend time with us. that was the best gifever because we got to just sit & talk. he even brought a box of pictures with him to share with us & there was even some of mommy when she was in our ages & boy did we get a kick out of those. we also got him to show us how the magic coloring book he bought for us worked, that was hysterical. he also told us tons & tons of stories, he's the best story teller we've ever heard. we knew he couldn't stay forever but when it was time for him to leave, it was a lot harder than any of us expected. livi, mommy & i held in our tears until daddy walked him out, but then the floodgates opened & we cried ourselves to sleep. we had so much fun getting to know him & spending as much time with him as we did, but we didn't want it to end. what we all decided is it's not going to be another 6yrs until we see him because he's to awesome not to spend time with!
