a hollywood ending

today was livi's 2nd grade award ceremony & her teacher went all out to make it a hollywood ending!  she even made a red carpet for the kids to walk when they were getting their awards, the kids loved it & felt so special! she also made full body silhouettes that she lined her hallway with. we could totally tell who each child was she did such an amazing job with the tracing! it was a packed house in there with so many proud parents. livi received lots of awards this year & she even got a trophy. here's the list of awards she received.... accelerated reader: bronze level, uil for creative writing, all heart award- physical education, a medal for being an all star reader, all A honor roll certificate with a trophy also (because she did so good, A's all year!) & her classroom award was the Sacagewea award for being the most caring student & putting everyone else before her! we're so super proud of how amazing livi has done this year & how she proved to everyone that nothing can stop her from doing anything! we can't wait to see what she'll accomplish next school year!

having fun at nonie's

this past weekend for memorial day we went to nonie's since we had some extra days off from school. for the 1st time we took sadie with us & she didn't do to bad in the car. she only trembled for the 1st hour or so & then she calmed down. we knew once we got to nonie's she'd be just fine.

as soon as we got there we had to take a spin on nonie's new taxi golf cart & it was so so so fun. we also found out that sadie loooooves golf carts, we couldn't get her off of it the whole weekend.

nonie also decided that it was the perfect time to teach livi & i how to drive a golf cart. sadie was not happy about being left out on this rides. in all honesty livi is the better driver, but i definitely will keep your heart pumping if i'm being the wheel.

we also went fishing which is one of out favorite things. livi discovered that she loved catching the minnows & baiting our hooks for us. seriously, she's a pro & not squeamish at all! for all the hours we were out there, mommy was the only one that caught a fish & it was a 3 pounder catfish. but i have to say i had the best catch of the day because mommy lost her sandal in the lake & i saved the day by catching it! how's that for fishing?!?!

of course it wouldn't be nonie's if we didn't do yard work together & this time we had sadie supervising us. nonie of course had to chase us down with the water hose as she watered the grass. mommy didn't get any pictures because she was hiding inside so she wouldn't get sprayed.

then it was time to pack up & head home with our sweet sadie in the middle of us. sadie loved being at nonie's & she'll be coming with us from now on... yay!

GRHS Grad walk

First GRHS Grad walk through our Longhorn Nation hallways! All 2017 graduates took the LONG LONGHORN walk as we cheered them on through the RMS halls...then through the RJH halls and ended up in the GRHS hall to a little celebration! Congrats Class of 2017 Longhorns! I can't wait till I'm a senior in high school & the day I get to do this walk, it was so awesome being a part of it cheering them on!

broken oak crawfish boil

 our neighbors right next door to us are from louisiana & every year they throw a crawfish boil! AND today was the day for our broken oak annual crawfish boil & it was the best day ever!!! mr. nick (our neighbor) got up super early to drive to louisiana to get over 100 lbs of fresh crawfish from his family!! there was crawfish everywhere, literally they kept escaping before they could get cooked & we we're chasing after them with gloves. let me tell you this was the best crawfish ever & our neighbors showed up the correct way to eat them. all the way from twisting off their heads to pulling the poo sack out! we are the crawfish masters now! i don't think daddy has ever been happier, he didn't get up from the table for 6 hours... he loooooves crawfish. mr. nick & mr. mike took down their fence in between their yards so the whole cul-de-sac could fit & we could go from one yard to another playing. ms. beth brought her sweet new baby & i got to have some one on one cuddle time, i held for almost an hour. i don't know if we've made it clear but we live on the best street ever & we love it so much!

spontaneous color war

Nothing like a spontaneous Friday night color war with the neighbors... parents -vs- kids! It's a toss up on who won, but the parents were definitely given a run for the money! Poor daddy had to go to work afterwards, thank goodness he got the pink washed... ha ha ha.

livi got bangs

livi has been wanting to cut bangs for a long time & today she finally got them. she's so stinkin' cute, but we're not sure we like how she's looks more like a teenager now.
