sadie's sunday funday

today was all about sadie, we wanted her to enjoy this beautiful day as much as she could. we started out by taking her to our favorite park to play. we only stayed there for a lil while because we didn't want to wear her out to much. she sniffed every inch of it, climbed on everything, went over a high bridge & of course before we left she had to go down the slide with me.

then we decided to surprise her & take her to the dog park!!! she had never been to one before & boy did her nose go into overdrive when we pulled into the parking lot. to warm her up we went into the small dog area because any dog that's under 25 lbs can go in there. she wasn't quite sure what to think when we took her off her leash, she just kind of looked at us like we were crazy. then she ran up to every human she saw to say hi, but when it came to other dogs not so much. after we covered the small dog area we decided to go into the "all dogs" area & it was huge!!! the dogs had a pond to go swimming in, rocks to jump off of, picnic tables for the humans to hang out to talk, a big fire hydrant & the cutest water fountains that were on the ground just for the dogs. sadie was so funny in the big area, she WOULD NOT leave our sides to go play. it was like she was stuck to us with glue & at one point we could have sworn she was trying to get daddy to put her leash back on. don't worry that didn't stop the other dogs from coming over to say hi or check her out. we couldn't believe all the different types of dogs that were there & they were all so beautiful & friendly. there was this huge great dane named moose that we all fell for, he was just so big & adorable. we know sadie had a good time & we can't wait to take her back for her to meet some more new friends.

after the dog park we decided we all needed a special treat because... well, why not? so we went to our favorite snow cone stand to have our first snow cone of the year & sadie's very first snow cone ever! sadie couldn't believe that she was getting her very own snow cone (don't worry it was plain),  she loved it, she just dove into it & ice was flying everywhere... it was hysterical. mommy & daddy couldn't resist & gave her a few spoonfuls of theirs also, it's safe to say that sadie loves coconut & banana. so now that we've spoiled sadie rotten, she'll always have to have a snow cone just like us.

then it was time to head home & finish our day with a movie. our poor lil sadie was all tuckered out, she got in mommy's arms & was out for the night.

froberg's farm

last week livi's school took a field trip to one of our favorite places... froberg's farm to do some serious strawberry picking! the day was perfect because it was overcast with a wonderful breeze. when the students first got there they got run around & play to get all their crazy wiggles out so they'd be ready to listen & follow all of froberg's rules.

then it was time to line up to get their strawberry buckets & go over the rules like...
don't pick the flowers because they turn into strawberries, pick only red strawberries, no climbing on the fences, stay out of the "keep out" areas, no pets, no jumping over rows & a few more.

once everyone memorized the rules it was time to get to picking... yay. there was strawberries as fas as you could see & the air smelt so sweet, everyone was ready to get out in the fields.

as you can see livi brought home tons of strawberries for us, we've already had strawberry shortcakes & mommy made some special gluten free chocolate chip strawberry muffins too. since there is such a short window of time to pick the strawberries, next year we're going as a family like last year because i can't miss the fun again. look at this place, its amazing!

fun friday

today my school's student council is sponsoring a school wide pajama day & read-a-thon. everyone at school will get to relax with a good book from 8-9 while wearing our jammies & slippers to school. we even get to bring a pillow & blanket to make sure we're extra comfortable while we read.  our student council is also asking for donations of toiletry items that will be given to common threads which is a non-profit clothing assistance program for children in our school district that need help. i brought toothbrushes, toothpastes & soaps, i love that my school thinks of the less fortunate & i love even more that i can help!!! i put on my favorite pj's & mommy gave me pig tails, i packed up my pillow pet & special blanket & was ready for this awesome day! i put on my favorite pj's & mommy gave me pig tails, i packed up my pillow pet & special blanket & was ready for this awesome day!

my hour of playing

hi everyone, it's livi! every monday ella has art class so mommy & i have time to spend while we wait for her. for a while now it's been really yucky on monday so we've been hanging out at the library checking out books or movies & playing on the computers. well yesterday it was beautiful outside & the ground wasn't soaking wet so i got to spend the whole hour playing on ella's school playground... whoo hoo!!! look how much fun i had, i can't wait until next monday!

yesterday livi really wanted to try & read her 1st book all by herself. of course it was a book about dinosaurs so she was ready to tackle it. she did amazing & she did read it all by herself!!! i was right next to her to help her sound out some of the trickier words & remind her about the "ing" on words. i was so super proud of her & we couldn't wait to show mommy how hard she worked. mommy was even more excited & was so so so thankful that i took the time to really help livi learn how to read... she was shocked by how patient i was with livi. we even got a lil more sugar than we normally are allowed... score! now we'll just have to see if we can teach sadie how to read. between the two of us we can pretty much accomplish anything!

roller coster friday

today was a roller coaster day for me, it started & ended great but it had a few twisty upside-down tummy drop turns also. first thing this morning at school we found out that our principal (dr. mumphord) was named lamar cisd's elementary principal of the year. we were all so happy & excited for her & she definitely deserves it!

after that was the first scary turn of the day, i received a test back i had taken the day before & failed it. i was really nervous going into it & i studied really hard for it, but i just kept getting confused. mommy & daddy worked with me trying to understand it & i did when i went o bed the night before the test. i guess when it was time for the test i just got really freaked out & started guessing myself. this is the first time i've failed a test & i was very very very upset, but i just have to keep my chin up & keep going. after we got our test back it was time to go outside for field day, not worry about that stinking test & have some serious fun! field day at my new school is way different that what we had at my old school. i've never seen anything so awesome, my coach got to the school at 3am to start setting everything up for the day... don't worry she had helpers. we had 3 different bouncy houses (one was a bouncy slip-n-slide... so cool), tug of war over huge blow up pools of water, hay barrel races, frisbee golf, go cart cars that you peddled in a race, penguin kick, monkey toss, fish relay, rock climbing, volleyball with the biggest ball you've ever seen, the list goes on & on, but the best was the obstacle course... we even had popsicles & popcorn. we also got ribbons for some of the events, i got a 2nd place, 3rd place, 4th place & 5th place ribbons. i have to say it was the best school day i ever had!

at the end of the day when we went inside to collect our things to go home was when the 2nd awful turn came unexpectedly. a girl in my class said (very loudly) that a boy in my class had a crutch on me. well without thinking i said "EWW, we're just friends", in my defense i just don't think about or chase boys around like a lot of the other girls in my class. well the boy heard what i said & he burst out crying, it was so awful. i tried to talk to him about, but he wouldn't even look at me. i'm hoping that by monday he won't be upset with me & we can still be friends! i'm super happy i had a play date with one of my friends after school to take my mind off of it. we had so much fun playing & hanging out. her family has nine animal... nine! they have 4 dogs, 1 bird, 1 fish, 2 hamsters & a bearded dragon named nacho.

when mommy & livi picked me up from my play date, i was still upset about what had happened at the end of the day. so mommy decided to take us to mcdonald's for a treat & cheer me up. mommy told me some embarrassing stories about her crushes when she was in elementary school. when we finished our meal mommy told us we could get a free tiny happy meal ice cream cone. well the gentleman behind the counter made them regular size not the itty bitty ones & they were huge!!! we couldn't believe our luck, livi & i were up to our eyeballs in ice cream.

so all in all it was a good day, but i do have some things i need to work on & work out!

every thursday livi has show & share at school based on what the letter of the week is. well this past monday she found out the letter of the week was going to be E & she was so excited. she knew exactly what she wanted to bring to share with her friends because she knew that nobody else would have anything as wonderful or awesome that starts with the letter E, so she brought me. daddy picked me up 15 minutes early from school so we'd be at livi's school right before show & share started. livi was so excited when she saw me that she she gave the biggest hug & pulled me into her room for all of her classmates to see. i told them what grade i was in, the school i went to, my favorite color, things i like to do & that my favorite animal was something that started with an e... an elephant. then after i was done talking, livi's friends could ask me questions they had.  being livi's show & share today made me feel so important, special & loved! i have the bestest little sister anyone could ask for.

we decided a while ago as soon as the weather quit being so cold that sadie would go in for her 1st haircut. we were really nervous about where to take her because she is part of the family & we wanted her to be treated like we are. we didn't want her tied up when she was getting cut or then throw into a cage when she was done, the idea of that just broke our hearts. daddy did tons of research on the internet, going places to check them out & reading every review he could. he finally found the most amazing place ever called "darci's all about dogs, resort & day spa." once we saw what it looked like inside we fell in love & knew this was just the place for sadie to go. everyone who works there is so sweet & you can tell they really really love dogs! the way they've decorated the spa is the neatest thing we've ever seen, it's so fun. they divided the spa into different sections, one for big dogs so the can run around, with toys everywhere, big beds for nap time & they even have toddler cars they've turned into beds for them. on the small dog size they have any type of bed & chairs you can imagine for the doggies to relax in, they even have vintage suitcases for them to lounge in. darci's is the cutest place ever & the best part is the dogs have free range & they get to socialize!!!

since it was our first time having sadie groomed we weren't sure what we wanted & since summer is about to start in texas we just told them to shave her down. holy cow, we were so surprised when we picked her up, she looks like a completely different dog! we love it, she looks so beautiful & we can't believe all the colors she is now without that 10 pounds of fur covering her up! she is also the softest thing we've ever felt, we've spoiled her rotten because we can't stop petting her & now she expects it at all times. everyone at darci's couldn't believe how well behaved she was, they said sadie just sat there & let them work away. they said sadie's favorite part was the blow dryer which we know because she loves having the blow dryer on her at home. whenever mommy is trying to blow dry our hair sadie scoots us out of the way so she's the one getting her hair/fur done. we'll definitely be going to darci's again, because they are awesome & they have the best smelling dog shampoo ever. we're still debating if we're going to have her hair cut so short next time (she kinda looks naked), or if we're gonna have sadie get a mohawk or maybe have her face a lil longer or maybe all of her a lil longer. one thing is for sure is that she is no longer a rag-a-muffin, she looks so grown up. ok ok ok, enough of me going on & on about it. we proudly present our new amazingly beautiful sadie...

daddy/daughters day

the other day we had a daddy/daughters day of running errands, jumping at sky zone, getting super blue icees (the ones that turn your whole mouth blue... lips, tongue & teeth), dining on chicken wings, mozzarella sticks & french fries at wings-n-things, playing at the park & having the best day ever! we love when we get to hang with just daddy & be one of the guys!
