Career Day
today at livi's school it was "focus on the future, dickinson career dress-up day"! as the their final no place for hate activity for the year, student were introduced to a variety of different careers and encouraged to "dream big". as their motto says, "if you can dream it, you can do it!" so today students were invited to wear clothing related to a career that they are interested in pursuing as they grow up. livi has been looking forward to this day as soon as she heard about it. she couldn't wait to dress up as a life long dream as a professional baker. she even covered her pants & face with flour so you could see she was serious about this day! this is the 1st time her school has ever had a career day & i hope they keep it up because we all think it's fantastic!

Club 10 formal
This past Friday night was my last Club '10 dance for the year! By the way Club ‘10 membership is open to any 7th or 8th grade Reading Junior High (“RJH”) student, or 7th or 8th grade traditional home-school student (who does not physically attend a home-school program outside of the home), residing within the RJH boundaries as established by LCISD. However, Club ‘10 is not sponsored by the school. Since 1991, many parents have stepped forward to keep this tradition going. Hundreds of junior high students have joined Club ‘10 and have shared many terrific memories of past events. The purpose of Club ‘10 is to create safe, fun, and supervised activities for students by which they can develop healthy social skills. They encourage attendance to all school dances and see Club ’10 as another way to supplement with more activities and dances. Since it was the last dance our theme was formal and it was held at a fancy smancy country club called Black Hawk. So everyone was dressed to the nines for this dance! Izzy came over to our house and we got ready together. Then since we were so dressed up we asked mommy & daddy to take us to downtown Richmond for a mini photo shoot! We loved every minute of it and I'm so thankful we did it!
Then after the photo shoot we picked up some of our other friends and went out to eat at MOD Pizza before heading to the country club. Mommy made us all wear coats over our dresses so we wouldn't get any pizza sauce on them! Thank goodness for mommies & their smart ideas.

From there it was time to get our groove on. There was of course dancing, a photo booth and snacks. This time we danced a lot more & it was the best dance of the year. We had so much fun and I'm so glad I always have my besties with me to go through it with me.

Then Izzy spent the night at my house and we fell asleep talking and giggling about the night. This is how mommy found us when she got up to check on us. I didn't even make it to my bed before passing out, I was on the blow up mattress with Izzy. You can say we had a great night, dancing our cares away.

Lariette Spring Show
well last night was my required performance in the dance department spring show for my dance class & it was awesome! the theme for this show was rock-n-roll songs through time. we danced to "old kind of rock n roll" by bob seger. we dresses up like tom cruise in the movie risky business, don't worry we didn't watch the movie just that one scene. this year we didn't practice for months like last year, we only learned the dance less than 2 weeks ago & we've been rehearsing like crazy. our dance teacher has been on maternity leave so we've had a sub & it's been interesting experience. to be honest it wasn't my favorite dance, but we tried our best. we were all super nervous about pulling it off, but i'm super proud of us! this is the biggest lariette show we've had so far!!! it was huge & ran a little over 2 hours. a lot of seniors were graduating so there were extra dances & ceremonies for them. i loved every second of it. there was over 15 dances & it was incredible to see all the routines. it completely inspired me to become a lariette when i'm in high school.

Sadie’s new toy
Sadie thinks it’s more important for Livi to play with her & her new toy than her reading time for homework. I’m sure Livi’s teacher will agree... I mean look at that face.
