our neighbor, bella plays volleyball at school and on a club & while living next door to her & watching her, livi has really become interested in the sport. so mommy signed her up for a summer week long volleyball camp at our local high school. she was super nervous the 1st day because the high school is huge & has 4 gyms, but one of the coaches there was a couch at ella's school so ella introduced them & they became fast friends. also one of livi's friends (macie) from school was there so that made it even better. after the 1st day of camp livi let us know that she needed knee pads immediately so she could dive even harder for the ball, so of course we got her some knee pads right then. while at camp livi learned all about volleyball roll, approach, block jump, serving, positions & more. the one thing that we were worried about from watching a bit on the 1st day is that you have to be aggressive to get the ball during drills or you won't get as many turns. livi is not the most aggressive person, but the girl got out there & became one!!!
when it was time for awards livi got the Miss Volleyball Award (aka the best on the team) & Camp Tournament Champ. we're so proud of livi, she didn't let fear stand in her way, she put herself out there & rocked volleyball camp!!!
My heart is so full of pride. That girl is a scrapper and always has been. She challenges herself while being fully aware of where she was and where she is now, Her desire to try it without meds knowing it could be very rough and no one knows better then her how she felt about the world before she started those meds. She has great form in these photos and those kneepads are just as we used to say "BOSS". I know she will continue on her missions and she will be successful in them. Now Ella I also know you challenge yourself all the time as well, especially in your school work and decision to stick it out with your advanced classes. Not only stick it out but excel!
