bibles for haiti

our awesome friends
the earthquake that struck haiti in january 2010 left over 400 deaf individuals & their families homeless. these folks have settled into a community in leveque (about 1 hour north of port-au-prince) where folks are working hard to further their education, have a place of worship, build housing & acquire safe drinking water. our church is so excited to be partnering with this deaf community & their families in order to help them fall more in love with Christ. our church is on a mission to bring bibles to the 400+ member community of leveque in haiti. each bible is $15.00.  they challenged our families to collect and bring enough money to the bridge to buy a bible for everyone in this community. tonight we had a come and go event where families could prepare personalized packets (with our picture, bookmarks, prayer cards & special drawings) that will be sent with our bibles to this community as well. we even got these really neat "pray for haiti" bracelets to wear! we are so excited to be part of this incredible opportunity to show God's love around the world. 17 friends of ours from church will be on this trip january 1-9, 2013, so we'd love if you would please pray for this team while they are there. we love our church so much! our goal was to purchase 400 bibles to take to a deaf community in haiti and tonight alone...we reached 300. amazing! only 100 more to go, if you'd like to help out please let me know! you can also visit this link to find out more about our church!
