saturday night

sean, trevor (shane's cousin), shane & me
last saturday my mommy got an email from my best guy friend's (shane) mommy asking if i could join him & his family for a movie & dinner in celebration of his birthday.  shane got to invite 2 friends & i was one of them & our friend sean was the other. the only thing was the movie they were going to see that afternoon was the movie we were sitting in when mommy got the email. they felt so bad it was last minute & really wanted me to be part of the celebration & asked if it was ok if i could still come with them to dinner. mommy said "of course" because they are the nicest family you will ever meet & mommy knew it was very important to me & they were having dinner at the best pizzeria ever... grimaldi's, it's from new york! i had the best time with shane's family, they are so goofy & we even got to order fancy desserts like grimaldi's famous cannoli... i looooooove cannoli, it's so good! after dinner we went to the wishing water fountain to throw coins in to make special wishes for shane's birthday, i brought extra pennies so everyone could have 2 wishes. ok, going home is usually not the best part of hanging out with your friends, but this time... whoo hoo it was AWESOME!!! shane's dad drove us home in his 67' red convertible mustang, can you say... OH MY GOSH?!?! shane & i rode in the front with him, it was the best ride ever. i loved having the wind in my hair, i couldn't stop smiling. i never wanted the drive home to stop, i'm so happy he took the long way. i wish you could have seen daddy's face when he saw that beautiful car, his jaw hit the ground, it was priceless. daddy's hoping shane can borrow the car to drive us to prom, because how cooli would that be?!?!

  1. I am so happy you had such a great evening! What a coincidence you were watching the movie you were invited to see with your friends. I think you had a great solution and it worked out very well. Sounds like magnificent pizza and dessert. Was there a lot of money in the wishing water fountain? I hope your wishes come true!
I do like that Mustang and remember them very well. The one you were in looks like it just came off the show room floor and that color red was a very popular color. My first ex-wife had a red 1968 Mustang. Matter of fact she had it when we got married and she had it when we got divorced. I wonder if there is a message somewhere in that? I do have one touchy question I am sure your mother was anticipating, if there are three people in the front seat area who was wearing the two seatbelts? You do look super cool behind the steering wheel! Born to drive a convertible!
    Love you,
