food, fun & animals

yesterday we went to the rodeo & had soooooooo much fun. since livi is so little we just went to the carnival, the petting zoo & all the food tents. of course the first thing we do when we get there is load up as much food as we can carry & find a great spot to eat & cowboy watch (daddy was on boot patrol, he wanted to find the craziest boots of the day). we started with cowboy burritos (they're made on the world's biggest skillet) then we had grilled hot dogs, cajun chips (livi's favorite), creole grilled corn, fried gator (daddy's favorite), fresh squeezed lemonade, cotton candy (my favorite), of course the world's famous cinnamon rolls (mommy & daddy always fight over them, thank goodness they each got their own this year)...don't worry mommy packed the pepto for us. while we were eating i made a really nice new friend sheriff heidin, she gave me stickers, pencils & tattoos of a sheriffs badge. i got to ask her all about why she carries a gun & before she could answer i told her it was to protect people in case she forgot, she also told me about her sheriff badge. while we were letting our food settle we decided to go visit the petting zoo, it was livi's first time & she loooooooved it. she went right up to a sheep, laid her head on it & started talking to it while petting him. daddy got me ice cream cone filled with goat food & as soon as they saw me i was ambushed by 5 of them. the funniest thing i learned was goats love ice cream cones, daddy was trying to teach them how to sit (that didn't work so well) & he would give them a piece. then it was time for the rides, of course we had to go on my favorite...the La Grande Wheel - the Western Hemisphere’s largest portable Ferris wheel... it was awesome possum, we were up in the clouds we were so high. of course the best way to end our day was the way we started it...a cowboy burrito on the way out (hey, you only get these babies once a year). ahhh, i can't wait to go back next year, daddy promised me i could see the cowboys ride bulls & i promised him i would go on a pony ride. til then my cowboy & cowgirl friends, yippee ki yay!
