family scavenger hunt

after meet the teacher at livi's school it was time for the family scavenger hunt at my new middle school. we took lauren (our neighbor) with us because her mom is a teacher & was at her school meet& greet so she couldn't make it this event was for out whole family to get acquainted with school layout, take care of some housekeeping items (finding out what bus i'll be on, my lunch menu, returning my gym clothes since i'll be doing dance instead) & mingling with the polly yon staff while completing our scavenger hunt. all the rms staff had on maroon "longhorns leave our mark" shirts on, so if we had a question we could feel free to stop them to ask! when we got to the back doors their were high school cheerleader greeting us & passing out our scavenger hunt forms. it was soooooooo overwhelming walking through those doors. this school is so big & it's just for us 6th graders. we went through through the whole school looking down every hallway & i still was lost! our gym is so big with the shiniest floors you've ever seen. the library & computer lab is really nice! honestly it's the prettiest school we've ever seen, but i'm really scared about how lost i am in it. mommy & daddy were walking out the door to get in the car & i freaked out because i couldn't remember where anything was. so we walked through it all again until i felt more comfortable. i know i'll get the hang of it but right now... oh my goodness! this year polly ryon is offering a dance class instead of having to take p.e. & only the first 50 registered got in. so a few weeks ago i had mommy set her alarm before the crack of dawn so as soon as the email was sent in she could fill it out & have it submitted asap. well i got into dance & i'm so excited! i also got to choose an elective for the year & the choices were choir, drama, band & art. i picked drama (i know everybody is shocked i didn't pick art) & i got it... so crazy. we just found out that the new drama teacher is from new york & has been on broadway. it's so exciting! i know i'm very overwhelmed with all these changes & i'm super duper nervous, but we all believe that this is going to be an amazing year & it all starts on monday.

i almost forgot the craziest part of the whole night. my best friend in kinder through 2ns was aniston & she's been on the blog a few times but it's been years. my very 1st sleepover was at her house & her very 1st sleepover was at our house. when we moved we lost contact, her mom doesn't do facebook & her number changed. well right in the middle of that huge gym filled with hundreds of people we randomly ran into each other! she just moved into our neighborhood 3 days ago & we're so happy to live so close after all this time. you wouldn't know that we haven't seen each other in over 3 years because after all these years we picked up right were we left off. isn't that so awesome?!?!
