sweet best friends

today livi's best friend (benjamin) had surgery to help him have better use of his left leg. he's in a cast that's from his hip down to his toes so he won't be able to walk for a few weeks, but he gets to ride in a really cool wheelchair. mommy offered to bring his family dinner & dessert when she found out about benjamin's surgery because the last thing they needed to worry about was what they would need to cook for dinner after their long day. also we knew livi was going to be really worried about benjamin until she saw for herself that he was ok, so this way everyone was happy. since benjamin loves pasta we picked up olive garden for dinner & livi made his favorite dessert, brownies with extra love. they were so happy when they saw each other, there was big smiles & hugs all around. benjamin was so cute because he would not let anyone sign his blue cast until livi signed it, not even his mommy or daddy. the nurses & doctor wanted to sign it before he left the hospital, but he wasn't having any part of it! so after he showed livi how hard his cast is & how heavy it is & how blue it is & how fun it is to knock on it... out came the markers for livi to sign & his mommy was right behind her to sign next.

she wrote "i love u, ben" & he signed her name for her

then benjamin wanted some fresh air & so he got into his awesome reclining wheelchair & they went for a walk to his mailbox. mommy was laughing because their mailbox was around the corner & by the time they reached the corner benjamin had an entourage with him checking in on him. their were kids & parents coming out everywhere waving, yelling get better or walking with them.

after catching up on each other's day & getting some fresh air it was time to go because he was still pretty tired from his surgery & he needed to rest. livi brought one of her favorite dinosaurs to give him to watch over & take care of him while she was away. when livi got home benjamin's mommy sent our mommy a picture with benjamin snuggled up with his elmo & the dinosaur livi brought him. they are just to sweet for words & i'm so happy they have one another!
