kylie's prayer & common threads thanksgiving meal delivery

today kylie's prayer & our church partnered up with common threads to deliver thanksgiving meals the homeless & struggling families in various locations in fort bend county. our church is so amazing & they purchased over 25 full thanksgiving meals that fed up to 6 people each for us. we also had several people donate pies, canned goods, eating utensils, juice & water. we were able to put together 3 boxes of food & a case of water for 29 families to have so they could have a thanksgiving meal. it was beyond incredible. we fed over 240 people, isn't that mazing?!?! a group of us got up early & went to the grocery store to load up the thanksgiving meals that had been prepared for us. when the ladies that had worked so hard on our meals found out where the meals were going they called the manager of the store out to meet us. they were so thankful for what we were doing & couldn't stop blessing us & hugging us. then they even came out to help load everything up, if they could've they would have left work to help us deliver too.

when we got to common threads we got crazy busy labeling everything for the families & their locations of where they were going. mommy had been there earlier in the week sorting everything so all we would have to do was pack up the extras... thank goodness for that. so when all the volunteers showed up to deliver meals everything would be ready so all they would have to do was load up & take off. it was complete madness but it was so great working together. 

once the volunteers got there ms. jill (she's in charge on common threads) gave a pep talk about everything that we'd be doing. then ms. lori led us in prayer. then everyone got split into groups to start the delivering feast. it was so awesome because a really good friend of mine from school came out to volunteer with his family. our neighbor (amanda) came with us too because she really wants to start serving & her parents know she's safe with us.  

mommy was put in charge of the largest group delivering because she knows the motel so well & everyone who works there & the tenants. she was a bit nervous because she was responsible for over directing over 20 people where & how to deliver everything. on top of that our church's pastor & his family were placed in our group so they could really see 1st hand everything we do... i know no pressure or anything. it was a lot of hard work getting the rooms of those getting meals, lugging up boxes & cases of water here there everywhere & up stairs too. 

we had some sad moments but we also had some amazing moments where tears were flowing with how thankful people were receiving thier blessed meal. this was the 1st time any of us have ever done anything like this & went better than we expected, we hope we can do it again next year & the years after that. it was such a wonderful feeling when we were finished knowing how many full bellies we helped be a part of & doing it with our friends & family was an added bonus.
