this past weekend i went on my very 1st church retreat & it was so amazing. it was a weekend retreat for 6th, 7th, & 8th grade girls. we spent the weekend hearing what God thinks about us & how precious we are. we arrived at our church saturday morning then after we checked in, put away our bags & settled in it was time for 1st speaker.
from there we all went to a nail salon to get manicures & have girl time. after the manicures we went to our hotel where we had a makeup lesson. it was great to be able to practice on each other & learn what to do & what not to do. then we all got dressed up & went to dinner at buca di beppo. let me tell you if you've never been, you have to go! it was the most amazing italian food i've ever had! mommy knew hoe important this weekend was to me & let me borrow my great great grandmothers cardigan to wear to dinner with my dress. guess what i didn't spill anything on it... yay!
then after dinner it was back to the hotel for pajamas, games, discussions with our retreat booklet, laughter & more. it was the really was one of the best days ever.
the next morning we got up, had breakfast, prayer time then it was off to church for one more guest speaker before our small group time.
I agree with you, I am also thankful you have a church that cares so much and does this. I worry about you sometimes because I know you are such a good person and try so hard in your studies and want to answer all the teachers questions. In my time some kids (mostly current and future losers but somehow somewhat popular, would make fun of that while being a poor to moderate person themselves. For someone like you that cares that can hurt if you let it but if you understand it you can rise above it and know they are really envious and even a little afraid of you and your success. I was REALLY nervous for you when you go into a new school with people that do not know you and your drive. I am so proud of you and how you have handled this and as I saw in another one of these posting you all "A"s on your report card. It is wonderful your church recognizes the way people can be hurt by someone's mean actions and help you understand it and offer ways to deal with it including always providing someone you can talk to. Gives me hope that mankind is really still evolving in a good direction. Love you girl and by the way you can always call me and on me to support you if you need a available ear (and heart).
