summer birthdays

the last 2 saturdays livi has been celebrating friends birthdays & going to some really amazing birthday parties! last saturday was garrett's mad scientist party & talk about having a brilliant time. garrett's mom decorated their house with science elements everywhere, she was a real genius when it came to thinking up all of her party planning ideas.

they had a real mad scientist there that amazed everyone with indoor fireworks, bubbling potions, spectacular chemical reactions, vortex generators, movie special effects & they even got to make real ooey gooey slime!

after the mad scientist's show it was time for pizza & cupcakes, but not any ordinary cupcakes. there was a crazy cupcake creation station to filled with anything & everything you can imagine to decorate your cupcake with even bacon bits & potato chips! everyone looooooooved that & had the best time ever seeing what everyone was creating. let me tell you from the sound of it i think the adults went crazier than the kids did coming up with concoctions to top each other.

now if that party wasn't cool enough, yesterday livi went to a how to train your dragon 2 party for her good friend kaylie. now something about kaylie's mom is that she can make anything & i mean anything!!! kaylie loves astrid (she's one of the main characters of the movie) so ms. stevie (kaylie's mom) made her an outfit just like astrid's from scratch & it was incredible!

seriously isn't that amazing?!?!?! so, just from looking at this you know it's going to be a fantastic party! ms. stevie really made the movie into real life in their backyard, there was the island of berk, the sheep tossing, target practice, sponge bombs & lots of sword fighting! one of the first things that you did when you walked in was pick out a sword (ms. stevie made those) & a shield (ms. stevie made those) to decorate so you would be ready for action because you never know when a viking will attack!

as soon as a viking saw that you had your sword & shield you were fair game & the fighting began.

for a little cool down time livi did some sheep tossing & resting at the air conditioned misting fort.

after about an hour of some serious dragon training activities it was time for lunch & cake. for lunch kaylie's dad smoked about a 2 dozen chickens to feed everyone & all the kids were eating the drumsticks like true vikings would... right off the bone, chicken hanging from their mouths & lots of snarling to be had. then after lunch & cake it was time for the kids to put on their swimsuits to go clean up on the slip-n-slide & at the balloon toss.

the best part was that ms. stevie made all the girls viking braids on a head band to take home & all the boys viking beards. of course mommy had a blast dressing up to, so ms. stevie let livi take home a viking beard along with her braids so mommy could have fun playing dress up.

also livi got to bring home the sword & shield so we can take turns whacking the poo out of each other.
