holy cow, did we have a crisis at our house with livi loosing her 1st tooth! mommy wanted to pull it out a few days ago, but livi's anxiety about pulling it out was through the roof. so we decided to let her do it her way so she'd be more comfortable & it wouldn't be as scary for her. so on tuesday night we could see livi's grown up tooth already poking out behind her baby tooth, mommy tried again to talk livi into pulling it out, but it was a no go.
well the next morning we're about to walk to the door for school, we just have to brush teeth & we're off. livi's brushing her teeth when all of a sudden she's rinsing out her mouth & spits out a lot of blood. that didn't go over so well so i called mommy into the bathroom & she's trying to calm livi down & tell her we need to pull her tooth out. finally livi agrees with mommy, but she wants to pull it out & couldn't get a good hold of her tooth because of the blood. so mommy had to calm her down again & by that time we had woken up daddy, so all 5 of us were in out itty bitty bathroom.
at this point mommy just reached in & barely tugged it & out her tooth popped. if livi would have kept brushing her teeth she would've brushed it right out, it was barely hanging on. as soon as mommy pulled her tooth, livi said she didn't feel so good then her eyes rolled in the back of her head & she passed out... i mean out out. on her way down she hit her head on the counter before mommy could catch her because everything happened so fast. thank goodness mommy caught her when she did because she was about to hit her head on the toilet next. before anyone could blink i was already out the door to get the phone to dial 911 because that was one of the scariest things i'd seen. daddy swooped in, took livi from mommy, tilted her with her head towards the floor & started carrying her to her bed while asking me to grab the ice pack. so i put down the phone, got the ice pack & hightailed it back to our room. it took livi a little over a minute to come around & she didn't remember anything & was very dazed when she came to. we were so happy to see her eyes open, let me tell you she scared the poo out of us! our hearts were almost beating out of our chest she had us so worked up.
we all decided that livi should stay home from school so mommy & daddy could keep an eye on, plus she still wasn't feeling so well. i wasn't happy going to school because i wanted to make sure livi was still really was ok. this all happened & then daddy & i were running out the door so i wouldn't be late for class. thank goodness with all the madness i wasn't tardy, but i was still shook up. mommy got livi back in her jammies, cuddled up in bed to rest with sadie making sure she was going to be ok.
about 3 hours later livi decided she was feeling better & daddy decided she needed a special treat for such a traumatic morning. so they took her to the grove donuts where she tore into a maple bacon donut!
that donut hit the sweet spot just when it was needed & livi finally found her smile... her new beautiful gappy smile! she still had a bad headache, but was coming around to being our silly livi.
when it was time to pick me up from school, livi insisted on coming with mommy because she knew i was worried about her. i was so happy when i saw waiting for me, i picked her up, gave her a big hug & told her she could never do that again. when it came time for bed last night, livi was still scared from everything that had happened earlier & didn't want to get near her tooth. so mommy put it in our special tooth fairy pillow & hung it over livi's bed post. i said the tooth fairy better be packing heavy tonight for all that we went through to get that tooth out. it's almost funny to think that such an itty itty bitty tooth could cause so much trouble!
then i had to give livi a few extra bed time hugs & tickles because she scared me so bad, i just wanted her to know how much i love her!.
needless to say we will never forget the 1st tooth livi lost! she's really really nervous about her next loose tooth... so are we. we only have about 18 more teeth to go, hopefully it won't be as dramatic as this one... sheesh. well livi was happy to find a $5 dollar bill under her pillow this morning & even happier that "that" tooth was far far away!!!
