ar rewards

well yesterday was supposed to be our big splash day for all the students that reached there ar point goals. the ar (accelerated reader) program at school measures our reading level. every book we read we have to take a test on it to see how well we really understood it & the score we got on that test transfers to points. from grades 1st-5th there is a goal for every reader & we have till the beginning of may to reach that level. well because of all the flooding splash day was cancelled, we were bummed but it's ok because our librarian turned our library into a movie theatre for us instead. almost all of the library volunteers showed up really early to help & mommy was one of them. she got to climb up on top of the book shelves to black out all the windows with paper... lucky.

then after that they had to pop over 375 bags of popcorn, our whole school smelt like a movie theatre.... it was awesome. since we weren't going to be using the splash pools, mommy got the idea to put the popcorn bags in there for us to grab as we walked to our seat... genius.

ms. preas (our librarian) picked out a great movie for us to watch...meet the robinson's. so all in all it was still a great non-splash day & we still get to have popsicles tomorrow at recess!

i can't wait for next year to earn my ar points again & livi is even more excited because she'll be able to do it too!!!
